If you’re planning a trip to York over the summer, then you need to make sure you visit the hottest spot for street food and craft ale, Spark:York. The funky container upcycled shipping container venue has been a positive addition to the York food scene. And things have just got even better with the addition of Little Bao Boy.
The Yorkshire-based street food vendor already has a home in Leeds at North Brew Co, and the masters of the soft fluffy bao buns are set to take on the cobbled streets of York. Just what the historic needs in our eyes.

Posting to Instagram Spark:York wrote: “So, our attempts to open in Spark have been pretty well documented. It’s been a struggle (one that the whole industry has been dealing with) to find staff. However, we’ve decided we couldn’t wait much longer – THIS WEEKEND (8th-10th) we’re shipping over three of our finest bun slingers from Leeds to York, and boy are we gonna feed you.

“We’re popping the hatch, steaming buns and giving you the goods you’ve all been waiting so patiently for.
“This isn’t the grand opening we were planning on, but we’re going to look to do a few more pop ups as the summer goes on. So keep those eyes peeled.”
They serve a range of bao buns including our favourite their braised beef bao buns which are slathered in their secret sweet chilli marinade and cooked low and slow until it’s so tender it’ll melt in your mouth. They finish it off with cucumber, spring onion and sesame seeds, then finish it off with lashings of sriracha mayo.
They also serve KFB bao buns, which are chicken thighs with Gochuchang buttermilk, covered in a special garlic flour mix and serve them up with iceberg lettuce and sriracha mayo. they also have a range of vegan baos so no one is left out.

Their sides include gyozas, garlic salt fries, and loaded fries – for the tastiest meal you’ll have this year. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect date night then we don’t know what does.
Spark:York, which has been given three more yours planning permission to operate will welcome the new vendor with open arms. The venue has a range of other street food offers plus craft ales for their bar and is the perfect way to spend a weekend with friends and family.
