Summer is here, which means we can all venture out of our homes once more. Like bears, we’ve hibernated for the winter thanks to COVID-19 restrictions, but things are getting back to normal – and we are very excited. Thor’s in York is back and we can’t wait.
Thor’s Sól Ást bar is planning a return this summer to the Principal hotel from the 18th of June. It’s quickly becoming a popular feature of York’s summer, with the spacious venue holding up to 250 customers.
According to Yorkshire Live, a statement on the planning application for the bar says: “We feel that once Covid restrictions are lifted some behaviours and attitudes will have been changed permanently, namely a desire for table service, a hesitancy to return to packed venues, a new desire for access to outdoor venues, and a desire to enjoy the amenities of the Principal gardens.
“In 2021 we propose to return to the site to offer a venue that meets those needs.”
Thor’s Tipi has become a prominent part of York’s Christmas market, and now maybe summer as well. The pop up offers a cool and quirky venue to enjoy drinks with friends in a safe and secure environment, and we can’t wait to visit this summer.
