Literally nothing sounds more relaxing than getting a massage in the rural bliss that is the Yorkshire countryside. And my God, after spending the past year hunched up in a ball on the sofa, my back bloody well needs it.
Located on the outskirts of Pontefract in the West Yorkshire countryside, Manor Farm Spa offers both the massages we’re all in dire need of, and rural bliss, too – making it the perfect place to hibernate further after a pretty bleak start to the year.
Complete with treatment rooms, a hot tub and cosy chalets – the quirky stay is surrounded by farmer’s fields, providing an idyllic setting to unwind in.
And while that already sounds so much better than the four walls I’ve been subjected to for twelve whole months now, it’s really not all they’ve got going for them.
Providing the ultimate spa experience for their guests, Manor Farm Spa is home to two chalets, allowing for only eight guests at a time from one party to ensure everyone can enjoy the perfect stay.
The chalets are decorated in a classic, country-style that compliments its surroundings, with cosy touches throughout including blankets, wood-burning stoves, comfy armchairs and robes and slippers.
And while nothing beats lounging around in a hotel robe and slipper combo, the attire is actually to allow you to enjoy a private hot tub outside – which overlooks the spectacular countryside that wraps around the property.
Sit under the stars with a glass of fizz, or simply prep yourself for a day of pampering with a soak, before enjoying a number of treatments at the spa.
All treatments take place in a dedicated spa room, and there are a number of options to choose from that’ll suit everyone’s preference. Relax with an aromatherapy, Swedish or hot stone massage, treat yourself to a rejuvenating facial, enjoy a reiki session or even exfoliate yourself from head to toe ahead of the summer months.
Complimentary mini treatments include foot and leg exfoliation and a treatment of paraffin therapy – which is hailed for its youthful results.
Elsewhere at the farm, guests can enjoy breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea with a view – with locally sourced food and wine available on the menu.
And what’s better, all alcoholic drinks are actually included in your night’s fee, so you can sit back and enjoy your glass of fizz knowing there’ll be no bill at the end of it. Heaven, huh?
Nearby to the farm, visitors can enjoy a number of countryside walks, as a well as a proper traditional pub, and, of course, Pontefract itself.
