Leeds City Centre’s Biggest Outdoor Drinking Area Is Opening This Spring

This summer is all about Al Fresco dining! Drinks and food in the sun are what 2021 is all about. After a year of isolating ourselves, it’s time to get back out there and live our lives. One of Leeds’ favourite bar streets is hosting a big ol’ party. Merrion Street party is back for 2021, and it will be the place to be in Leeds City Centre this summer.

Merrion Street bars & restaurants have joined forces to create the city’s largest outdoor area for hospitality. The aim is to help people have a safe and sheltered space to enjoy time with friends. British summers are renowned for a change in the weather, and this covered space will allow us to be out no matter what the weather is saying.

The sheltered space will run for five weeks over summer, bars and restaurants taking part are Mojo, Verve, Manahatta, Yard & Coop, Mean Eyed Cat, Roxy’s Ballroom, Liv Bar, & Zaap Thai.

The 5-week event will be taking place between 12th April, when we are officially allowed to go to the beer garden with friends, to the 17th May, when fingers crossed we will once more be allowed inside pubs and restaurants to dine.

Al Fresco dining may be the order of the summer in Yorkshire! The amazing Thor’s Tipi is returning for its summer Sól Ást bar at the Principal Hotel in York, and many other places are following suit with outdoor plans to help with safe distancing.
