Everyone has heard the age-old question of whether or not a Jaffa Cake is a biscuit or a cake. The argument has gone on for years with no real universally accepted answer – until now. M&S has thrown the rule book at the window and created their own hybrid item they are calling it a Biscake. Their new creation comes in three yummy flavours.

Their new creation has a crunchy biscuit base topped with a light fluffy cupcake top. They’ve got out attention with this one for sure – we need to try this new take on the biscuit genre.
M&S Product Developer for cakes, Natalie Tate, said: “It’s the age-old question. Cake or biccy with your cup of tea? This new and exclusive fusion to M&S, the Biscake, takes the stress out of having to decide as you can now enjoy both together. The three delicious flavours are the ultimate treat – with the perfect balance of crumbly biscuit base and fluffy, sweet cupcake top.”
“I absolutely love the Choc Chip off the Old Block which is topped with our very own delicious treat bag Milk Chocolate Cookie Dough Bites.”

The new M&S biscake is available in three new flavours:
Lemon Meringue-a-tang – which is crumbly biscuit base with a lemon sponge with lemon cure and lemon buttercream.
Choc Chip Off The Old Block – which has a crumbly choc chip base with chocolate sponge and topped with chocolate buttercream and a treat bag of milk chocolate cookies.
Cherry Cake-Well Biscake – which is a crunchy biscuit base with an almond sponge with raspberry jam and buttercream with a glacier cherry of course.
They took to Instagram to announce their news writing “Picking the perfect partner to your cup of tea just got even easier!” If you like the sound of their new creation, then head down to your local M&S store. They are all available in-store now and retail at £2.50 for a pack of two.
