While 2020 so far has been pretty shitty, to say the least (*cough Brexit cough*), happiness is finally on the horizon in the shape of pancakes. To help you make the most of pancake day in Sheffield this year, we’ve rounded up the best spots around town to try for the ultimate Shrove Tuesday celebrations!
The Cabin

Specialist pancake and waffle restaurant The Cabin is the perfect spot to celebrate Shrove Tuesday – with all the toppings, milkshakes and treats you could hope for to really go all out for the big day. Pancakes are served American style with maple syrup, with toppings such as blueberries, strawberries, whipped cream, Nutella, smoked bacon, peanut butter and more to choose from! The Cabin, 20-24 Fitzwilliam Gate, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield, S1 4JH.
Bill’s

Known to celebrate every year, Bill’s are hosting a special pancake menu from 21 February – 1 March. The menu is pretty diverse too, with both sweet and savoury options to choose from. Savoury fans can choose from sweetcorn pancakes with eggs and avo as well as roast tomato and black olive, with those who have more of a sweet tooth able to choose from berries with white chocolate sauce or banana and salted caramel. Bill’s, 2, Paul’s Place, 127 Norfolk St, Sheffield, S1 2JF.
The Graduate

Another year, another amazing pancake deal from The Graduate – who have officially announced they’ll be bringing back their 25p pancake deal after huge success last year. Pancakes will cost just 25p each, with toppings costing 50p – which include Nutella, chocolate spread, maple syrup and bacon. The Graduate, Surrey St, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield, S1 2LH.
Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen

Already giving pancake fans a sneak peek of what’s to come, Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen will be serving a special pancake menu for the occasion. The cafe bar serves up food made with locally sourced produce, and prides itself on its vegan and gluten free options. Birdhouse serves some extremely Instagrammable dishes, with previous pancake dishes including chicken, smores and tasty fresh fruit. Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen, Alsop Fields, Sidney St, Sheffield, S1 4RG.
Upshot

A regular participant in Pancake day shenanigans, Upshot serve up some absolutely delicious ones. Last year, the coffee spot hosted a pancakes and prosecco day, serving all day from 8am to 8pm. The pancakes are super thick and fluffy, with toppings such as rhubarb, bacon, apple compote and spiced crumble previously making us drool. Keep your eyes peeled for announcements about this year’s pancake day celebrations in Sheffield. Upshot, 355 Glossop Rd, Broomhall, Sheffield, S10 2HP.
