Yorkshire isn’t short of beautiful restaurant experiences, by any means, but what sets Treehouse apart from the crowd is its choice of location. Situated just a stone’s throw away from the Humber, the ultra-glamorous bar and restaurant brings a sense of style that East Yorkshire has been crying out for for years – and it seems that the folk in Hessle agree, too, packing out the venue at every opportunity.
Opting for a lavish pretty-in-pink theme throughout, the Instagrammable venue features photo-opps at every turn – with beautiful cherry blossom trees looming throughout the restaurant area, luxurious green velvets throughout, and chic marble tables adding to the air of opulence.
It’s a destination in its own right, with everything you need to enjoy a fully-fledged night out in just one location.
Consisting of three main areas, guests can enjoy the bar, restaurant and outdoor terrace – with tons of cocktails on the menu to enjoy.
The outdoor terrace features street-facing seating to enjoy on a summer’s day, with a pink candy-striped canopy providing shelter on the cooler evenings.
And if your interest piqued at the mention of cocktails, you’ll be pretty pleased to hear that Treehouse goes all out in that area. Not being content with a run-of-the-mill menu that you’ll find just anywhere, the bar has a pretty lengthy list on offer, with a number of inventive ‘Treehouse Creations’ available to order – all of which champion sweet and fruity flavours that’ll either gift you with a sense of nostalgia or wistfully whisk you off to a tropical land far, far away.
But that’s not quite what we meant when we said all out. Creating the perfect drinks experience for groups to take advantage of, Treehouse offers up a signature Pornstar Martini tree, which holds eight cocktails and is absolutely perfect for that post-lockdown ‘social media moment’.
The restaurant also serves up afternoon tea in a birdcage, which thankfully sacrifices the finger sandwiches and cakes for slider burgers, macarons, fries and more. It’s a contemporary twist on the classic event, and a very welcome one at that. After all, we love a good carb here in Yorkshire.
Elsewhere on the menu, guests can enjoy classic brunch dishes, Sunday roasts, burgers, Caribbean chicken and even fish and chips – with an incredibly diverse offering to suit everyone’s tastes. The menu makes for the perfect dinner date with friends, helping to avoid those inevitable arguments over which cuisine to try when you finally reunite this summer.
The real star of the show, however, is the restaurant’s delectable chocolate sphere; a sculpted chocolate sphere filled with ice cream, which is melted by pouring on hot white chocolate sauce. It’s joined by gooey brownies and moreish cookie dough on a seriously sweet dessert menu, that, if you ask us, is pretty hard to pick from (in a good way!).
Treehouse will be opening indoors next week, with bookings now open for May 19th onwards. Find them at Treehouse Bar & Restaurant, 3 The Weir, Hessle, HU13 0SB.
