Yorkshire legend Paul Chuckle of the comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers has been cooking up a storm on this year’s Celebrity Masterchef and reminding people why he is such a national treasure.
Paul Chuckle, along with his now deceased brother Paul, entertained the nation’s children for over three decades with their catchphrases and getting into all sorts of trouble.
But, Paul didn’t have any trouble on the first round of Masterchef as he sailed through the next round. The Rotherham comedian and DJ cooked up a storm to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with a few ‘to me, to you’ gags thrown in for good measure.
In last night’s episode Paul went up against McFly star, Danny Jones; comedian, Kae Kurd; TV personality, Nancy Dell’Olio; and reality TV star, Faye Winter.
Paul wowed Gregg and John impressed the judges with his first two challenges challenge of mushroom soup and preparing a Korean fried chicken dish, complete with brined coleslaw.
Then absolutely smashed it was his “best dinner party dish”, which was a classic salmon wellington served his with veg and hollandaise sauce which pleased the judges with its technical aspects.
Gregg told Paul: “That is a technically challenging dish and it tastes great”. And, Paul being Paul, he could not resist a joke, saying: “I’m very proud of myself, heart and soul went into that. Well, it wasn’t, it was heart and salmon.”
Fans are hoping Paul Chuckle does it for Yorkshire and goes all the way with people praising him on social media. Go on Paul! Do it for Yorkshire!
