We are loving planning all the things we want to do this Christmas, and thankfully, a Christmas tradition we thought was coming to an end is back in a new guise.
Robin Hood’s Bay’s Victorian Weekend is one of the fishing village’s best-loved Christmas traditions. It has been running for more than 30 years, and it’s been announced that its return in December 2026.
Taking place since 1994 — a little while after the actual Victorian era — the Victorian Christmas at the Bay is back this December. Rebranded as The New Victorian Weekend, it’s set to take place on December 5 and 6, kicking off a brand-new series of celebrations in the tiny fishing village.
The original Victorian Weekend organisers announced that December 2025 would be the final event, so we are absolutely thrilled to see that it is returning.
Along with the Victorian Weekend, there are a couple of other celebrations taking place in December, including the Pirates & Smugglers Weekend on December 12–13 and another event that is currently being finalised for December 19–20.
Thinking of visiting Robin Hood’s Bay Victorian Weekend?
If you’re looking to head to The New Victorian Weekend, it’s highly recommended that you dress traditionally, filling the Bay’s cobbled streets, lanes and alleyways with Victorian charm and a heap of festive nostalgia.
It’s a new event, but it’s lovely to see that the Victorian Christmas theme is being kept alive in Robin Hood’s Bay this Christmas.
