Taskmaster Family-Friendly Experience Coming To Yorkshire This Summer

Get ready to channel your inner comedian as Taskmaster is launching at 17 historic sites across the country this summer, including Yorkshire. The wacky tasks are all fun and games at two of Yorkshire’s historic landmarks this summer as the much-loved TV show Taskmaster brings a family-friendly twist to some of the region’s top attractions.

From Saturday 19 July to Sunday 31 August, visitors to Brodsworth Hall and Gardens and Scarborough Castle will be able to take part in a series of hilarious and silly challenges inspired by the hit comedy show. In partnership with English Heritage, the Taskmaster team has designed fun tasks for all ages, perfect for making the most of the school holidays.

Pick up your official Taskmaster scorecard on arrival, explore the site, and get stuck into the antics. Expect creativity, confusion, and possibly a few rogue rubber ducks along the way. Don’t worry, the actual Taskmaster (Greg Davies) and his assistant (Alex Horne) won’t be judging your efforts, which means you’re in charge of your own chaos.

Beth Stone, Head of Visitor Engagement and Experience at English Heritage, said, “We are delighted to be collaborating with the Taskmaster team this summer. From tasks such as becoming a monarch and making your own laws to creating your own solstice our visitors can expect a host of fun with a history twist at many of our properties and of course, plenty of rubber ducks!”

Alex Horne, creator and star of Taskmaster, said: “From the unusual position of being both a parent and a Taskmaster’s assistant I feel confident that this relationship will be a positive one for kids, grown-ups and general fans of heritage. It’s nice to go to nice places but it’s even nicer to do fun things in those nice places and this should ensure you can do just that for this summer at least. And Greg agrees with me, so this is official.”

This exciting collaboration arrives just in time for fans to get even more hyped about series 20 of Taskmaster, which features two Yorkshire-born comedy legends — Reece Shearsmith, from Hull, and Maisie Adam, from Harrogate. The new series promises more laughs and legendary moments as these home-grown stars join the five-contestant lineup competing for Taskmaster glory.

Whether you’re a seasoned fan or a first-time explorer, this summer’s Taskmaster trail promises fun, fresh air, and a chance to earn some serious bragging rights. If you’d like to find out more, head to the English Heritage website here.
