Yes, you heard it right. It’s as if we’ve stepped back into 1930’s America with this cool speakeasy in Leeds City Centre. The entrance is through a working Barbershop, which leads you down to the stylish and vibrant jazz bar The Domino Club, Leeds.
This hidden bar can be found in the Grande Arcade in Leeds and is an experience. We stumbled upon this happening place a few years ago when wandering through the Arcade at night and noticing a queue and big bouncers at the door. We joined the back of the queue – intrigued – and were somewhat surprised as we passed through the barber’s shop into another world.
As you descend the steps into the bar, you are greeted with darkness, except the warm glow of the bars sign above a fireplace. Next, as you gland to the right, a bar greets you stocked with American ryes and bourbons. The noise hits next as the atmosphere in the place is a buzz. The venue permeates coolness from its huge leather booths to sit in – to its black and white pictures of the Prohibition Era that adorn its walls.
The Domino Club in Leeds has an array of amazing cocktails from the classics such as old-fashioned and espresso martinis to their own concoctions, as well as great beers and wines to choose from. After a year in lockdown, this is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for something a little different from your night out.
