This York Restaurant Serves Up Yorkshire Puddings Every Day Of The Week, For Every Meal

I don’t know much about Hannah Glasse – but what I do know is that she was the genius inventor of the most important dish ever created. The Yorkshire Pudding.

A cultural icon here in the North, the Yorkshire Pudding has become the key foundation of the weekly Sunday roast – for some, topping the meat as the real star of the show. At least, that’s the case in our house.

And paying homage to the delicious savoury dish is The York Roast Co. – a family-run spot found in the historic city of York.

Championing the traditional British side dish, the Chadwicks – a father-son duo – have crafted an accessible menu that honours the Yorkshire Pudding in the worthiest way possible: by smothering it in gravy.

Paired with its trusty companions: roasted veg, meats and potatoes, guests can enjoy their favourite Sunday treat in a unique way here at The York Roast Co., where giant Yorkie Puds double up as a wrap, lovingly blanketing its Sunday roast counterparts.

Dubbed the YorkyPud™ Wrap, each wrap consists of a massive Yorkshire Pudding, before being filled with a roast meat of your choice (with pork, turkey, ham and beef all on offer), roasted vegetables, stuffing and a delicious, thick gravy.

Served from 11am, it’s the perfect choice for a late breakfast, indulgent lunch or even a post-night out snack – with both of their York locations remaining open till 1am every Friday and Saturday, making it not only a must-try lunch staple, but the Yorkshire substitute for the dirty doner kebab.

If that wasn’t enough Yorkshire Pud appreciation already, the street-food style spot also offers up a massive Yorkshire Pudding meal, again, consisting of a massive Yorkshire Pudding, before being piled up with roast potatoes, veggies, meat and plenty of gravy.

If you fancy a little something extra, guests can also pig out on sides and extras such as mini Yorkshire Puddings, stuffing balls, crackling and even tubs of roast potatoes.

Found on both Stonegate and Low Petergate, the venue is open from 11am Sunday-Friday and 10am on Saturdays, closing as late as 10pm Sunday-Thursday and 1am Fridays and Saturdays.
