This Afternoon Tea Train Experience In Yorkshire Dales Sounds Incredible

The beloved afternoon tea train services of Wensleydale Railway in the Yorkshire Dales are making a triumphant return this year, boasting upgraded menus and additional dates! Collaborating with a fresh catering partner, The Green Apple Tree in Northallerton, the railway has curated enticing new menus to elevate its onboard dining experience.

The festivities kick off with a special Valentine’s Day lunchtime train on Sunday, February 18th. Guests will indulge in a delectable new ‘mezze’ sharing platter. Furthermore, there will be Afternoon Tea trains available for Mother’s Day (March 10th), Easter Sunday (March 31st), Father’s Day (June 16th), Summer (August 18th), September 22nd, and Autumn (October 20th).

Your afternoon tea adventure commences with a welcoming glass of bubbly or orange juice upon settling into your seat. As the journey sets off towards Leyburn, the dedicated volunteer staff will graciously serve a choice of tea or coffee alongside a variety of freshly crafted sandwiches and savory pastries. Simply recline and relish in the culinary delights while soaking in the breathtaking vistas of Wensleydale’s picturesque scenery from the cozy comfort of your seat!

A brief interlude awaits in Leyburn before reboarding the train, where you can delight in a selection of scrumptious scones and cakes paired with more tea or coffee as you make your way back to Leeming Bar. Your afternoon culminates with a decadent chocolate treat as you bid adieu – until the next delightful excursion!

Departing from Leeming Bar at 14:30, the tea train voyage spans approximately two blissful hours. Unfortunately, the vintage coaches are not currently wheelchair accessible. If you have concerns, please inform the staff upon booking, and they will endeavour to allocate a table near the access door.

The cost per adult is £45, with children (aged 14 and under) priced at £25, which includes the rail ticket and a complimentary glass of bubbly (or a soft drink). Reservations are essential to avoid disappointment. Visit the website here.
