Some of the region’s most beloved fish and chip shops have been recognised for their outstanding achievements at the inaugural English Fish & Chip Awards, celebrating excellence across one of Britain’s most iconic industries.
Among the evening’s biggest winners showcasing a love for great fish and chips, which has been celebrated once again, was Jim’s, which took home the prestigious title of Best Fish & Chip Shop in Yorkshire and the Humber at the English Fish & Chip Awards.
The award recognises the dedication, quality and passion that goes into creating some of the region’s finest fish and chips, with Jim’s standing out among strong competition from across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Also, Fisherman’s Wife in Whitby was crowned Best Coastal Fish and Chips in England. The award was presented at a ceremony in Manchester, honouring the people and businesses that continue to make Britain’s fish and chip trade world-class.
Located on Khyber Pass in the picturesque seaside town of Whitby, Fisherman’s Wife has built a strong reputation for its traditional fish and chips, fresh seafood dishes and stunning sea views. Following the announcement, the team thanked their hardworking staff, trusted suppliers and loyal customers for their continued support.
The accolade is a fantastic achievement for the much-loved seafood restaurant and provides yet another reason for visitors to head to the Yorkshire coast and enjoy one of the nation’s favourite meals.
Elsewhere, several Yorkshire fish and chip businesses were also recognised for their commitment to quality, innovation and customer service. From family-run establishments to newcomers making their mark on the industry, the awards highlighted the strength and diversity of fish and chip shops across the region.
