You’ll enjoy the trip aboard the Great Western Saloon, which was built in 1948 at Swindon and brought to the NYMR in 1972. It offers large windows with superb views along the line as you travel in comfort and style. Whether you’re travelling as a small group of friends or family or enjoying a couples’ date, it’s a wonderful, quintessentially British atmosphere in which to enjoy a festive afternoon tea.

You’ll enjoy a return journey from Pickering Station, departing at 12.45pm for Goathland and returning at around 3.30pm. You’ll be greeted with a glass of mulled wine on arrival and treated to a selection of festive sandwiches, such as roast turkey and cranberry, and smoked salmon and cream cheese.

On top of that, there’ll be a pork pie from a local butcher, homemade cheese and chive scones, and a broccoli and cheese tart, all washed down with tea and coffee.

And to finish off, you can enjoy a selection of sweet treats and cakes. A small selection of additional drinks will be available to purchase on board should you wish.
