This Peak District Road Trip Has Been Named In Top Four In The UK

There’s no better way to see the country’s diverse landscape than jumping in a car and exploring all it has to offer. And, a scenic road trip is even better. We aren’t talking about jumping on the motorway and driving the same monotonous road for hours. We are talking countryside roads with stunning views to experience along the way.

And, with the warmer weather and longer days here, there’s no better time to get off the beaten track and explore the UK’s most scenic places. And it seems we aren’t the only ones who think so – as experts at Hankook Tire UK have put together a list of the most scenic drives you can take and the Peak District has ranked in the top four – with good reason.

The route in question takes you through Hope Valley. The A6187 twists and turns its way through the scenic countryside in the Peak District heading west from the village of Hope towards Castleton. Once you venture to Castleton there is the likes of Mam Tor, which people hike to and enjoy the views from above.

Also, just a short drive away is Kinder Scout – the highest point in the Peak District – standing at 636 metres above sea level. It offers views across the moorlands and has a wonderful waterfall as well. Along with Scotland, Cumbria and Northern Ireland – the Peak District locations was one of four road trips that you need to try according to Hankook Tire UK.

Castleton is a favourite village of ours. It’s so picturesque and we highly recommend if you do visit that you try the pick n’ mix sausage and mash at Ye Olde Nags Head. We guarantee you’ll leave satisfied after you’ve finished. It’s a stunning put as well making for a fitting finish to a fabulous road trip.

Chang Yool Han, Managing Director of Hankook Tyre UK, says: “The UK is home to some of the most beautiful scenery, offering plenty of opportunity to escape the daily grind and lose yourself in nature. Interestingly, Google searches for ‘scenic drives near me’ have increased more than 5,000% in the last 30 days alone, signalling motorists’ enthusiasm for getting out on the road now that summer is almost here.

“As with any long-distance trip, it’s essential to carry out all the relevant car maintenance checks before setting off. This includes checking your tyre tread and pressure, along with your fuel and oil levels, brakes and electrics. Doing so will help to protect your vehicle, as well as drivers on the road, as traffic is expected to increase with the warm weather.”
