It’s Friday, and that can only mean one thing… Chippy tea! Across the county, families will be tucking into fish & chips, the nation’s favourite takeaway. One pub chain has taken note of this and added a mouth-watering chip butty splattered in gravy to their menu.

That’s right! You can enjoy a good ol’ chip butty with gravy and a pint across the UK at pub chain Greene Kings pubs. The champion of comfort foods will be welcomed with open arms by all customers looking for a hearty snack with the drink over the winter period.
The dish will be a generous helping of chips served in a soft bun with plenty of butter with a generous helping of thick gravy – we are salivating at the thought of this new edition. Now, this is nothing new, we know. A chip putty with gravy has been a thing of beauty for years, but been able to enjoy one with a nice cold pint is something special.

On the Greene King website they’ve named it their ‘dish highlight’ describing the giant sandwich as “a whole bread loaf, hollowed and filled with chips, cheese and lashings of gravy. Served with two jugs of gravy for dipping”.
There are loads of loads of Green Kings pubs across Yorkshire to try this now carby delight this autumn. If you fancy giving it a go why not find your local Greene King pub here and pop down.
