This Stunning Historic Garden Near Yorkshire Has Been Named One of the UK’s Best

We love visiting a stunning garden, which is one of the best ways to make the most of spring in Yorkshire, and this historic estate on the edge of Yorkshire in Derbyshire has been named one of the best gardens to visit in the UK.

New research by CEWE analysed factors including Google star ratings, the number of reviews, and how often visitors described destinations using words such as “best”, “outstanding” and “must see”.

Chatsworth House came in second place. Located near Sheffield on the edge of the Peak District, the estate offers the perfect countryside escape. It received 694 spring-related reviews and holds a 4.7-star rating from more than 24,000 visitors.

Built in the 16th century, Chatsworth features 105 acres of landscaped gardens that blend formal design with natural beauty. In spring, vibrant blooms fill both the Rose Garden and Cottage Garden, while dramatic water features such as the Emperor Fountain and Willow Tree Fountain add to the spectacle.

It’s no surprise the estate has been used as a filming location for productions including Pride & Prejudice and Peaky Blinders, thanks to its cinematic appeal.

Chris Wood, managing director of CEWE UK, said: “As mornings continue to get brighter and days lengthen, these beautiful spaces provide the perfect opportunity to head outside and explore the UK’s breathtaking greenery. Whether it’s a stroll along flower filled paths or a wander through colourful spring gardens, there’s plenty to explore up and down the country.”
