The highly anticipated Filey Kite Festival returns for 2026 and is in its sixth year, offering an incredible experience at no cost to attendees. Set against the stunning backdrop of Filey Brigg’s cliffs, the festival will feature some of the world’s largest and most colourful kites, filling the skies with vibrant displays over two exciting days.
The festival will showcase the talents of renowned international kite flyers, who will mesmerise the crowd with their skilful performances, drawing thousands to the picturesque North Yorkshire coast.
The event is scheduled for the weekend of September 18th and 20th, with activities running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Hosted and commented by the Northern Kite Group (NKG), the festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

New for Filey Kite Festival 2026
The festival has launched a Friday Night Flight where illuminated kites will light up the skies at dusk, which is not to be missed. So, make sure you are there on Friday 18th September for the new additional day to the event.
In addition to the kite displays, there will be children’s fairground rides and a variety of refreshments available from local traders and the Country Park Café. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and settle in for two days of family-friendly fun and spectacular kite flying.
