You can’t get much better than fried chicken – and one of York’s restaurant serves up some of the best going. This has been confirmed at the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards when one of our favourite restaurants was given the title of ‘Best Chicken Restaurant in the Northern England and Midlands region.
That restaurant in questio in Clucking Oinks, found on Castlegate in York city centre. Starting at as one of the OG’s at Spark:York first started as a food truck in 2016, they’re gone from strength to strength and opened their first restaurant back in June last year.
The Deliveroo awards took place last night and Clucking Oinks won the public vote taking home the best chicken award. With a name like Clucking Oinks, you’d hope saw! We’d have given them the award for that alone. Having sampled their menu a few times, we could never get tired of their amazing fried chicken – and it seems we aren’t the only ones.
You can enjoy burgers, fried chicken, wings and more including some fantastic sides at their city centre restaurant as well as some top beers to wash it down. Our favourite has to be their Nashville Hot Chicken.
