This Yorkshire Walk Is Named Best Spring Walk For 2025

Spring has sprung and we are making the most of it whether it’s a lovely daffodil walk or a nice coastal walk. But, one place that always tops the list and is one of our favourites for sure is Malham Cove. And we aren’t the only ones who think so, as Which? has named it the UK’s best spring walks for 2025.

The walk is perfect for most levels and takes in every kind of Yorkshire Dales essence that you’d desire. Waterfalls, limestone pavements and awe-inspiring views are all up for offer in just a 4-mile walk – how great is that! And, you could up it to seven miles if you’d like to visit Malham Tarn a stunning lake.

Malham Cove is an amphitheatre-shaped limestone cliff, which is famously in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows where Harry and Hermoine pitch and tent and brood whilst looking out at the views of the Dales.

The comparison site Which? scored the walk a full five stars for scenery and places of interest. With the likes of Gordale Scar a stunning ravine that has walls 100 metres high, Janet’s Foss waterfall, the most picture-perfect hidden gem you could happen across and the cove are all places of interest within their own right – so it’s easy to see why he walk is rated so highly.

Which wrote, “All the ingredients, then, for a memorable day out: it’s a walk that makes you feel like an action hero”. And we couldn’t agree more. If you do one spring walk this year make sure that you visit Malham, which also has three fantastic pubs to visit afterwards.

Also featured in the list was Grosmont to Goathland, North York Moors; Whitby to Robin Hood’s Bay, North York Moors; and Brimham Rocks Circuit, North Yorkshire.
