Three Yorkshire Spots Named In Britain’s Top 25 Most Stunning Views

Yorkshire and stunning views go hand in hand. So, the news that three of its glorious locations featuring in a list of 25 of Brits favourite stunning views. Taking the top spots was the iconic Windermere in the Lake District, but Yorkshire was hot on its heels.

In fifth place was the Gothic cathedral, York Minster, the largest medieval Gothic cathedral north of the Alps, with 23% of the votes. It can be seen from most places in York – and makes for the most beautiful photographs. It’s hard to take a bad snap of this architectural wonder.

And, that was’t all for the city of York, with the Shambles – the historic street in York – came joint eighth with Stonehenge, the Roman baths in Bath and Ben Nevis with 20% of the vote. Not a bad group to draw with in a list of the best views.

Sneaking into the top ten was the Robin Hood’s Bay in ninth place with 19% of the vote. The Yorkshire coast gem, is an old fishing village and feels like it’s been frozen in time. It’s one of our favourite places to visit. Exploring the labrinth of streets, finding quaint cottage after quaint cottage it is a real treat.

The poll of 2,000 people was conducted in conjunction with the launch of the Isuzu D-Max with a 4×4 drivetrain. The ranking was produced by survey respondents picking multiple favourite views from a master list. Windermere was listed as a ‘top view’ by the highest number of people.
