The legendary lockdown documentary Tiger King is back later this year as part of Netflix’s true crime lineup of documentaries to be released. Netflix released a short teaser video – but it is yet to be known what the angle is for Tiger King 2.

The first instalment took us on a journey of Joe Exotic and his G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma. The star of the documentary is currently in prison for crimes against his animals and his role in a murder-for-hire plot against his biggest nemesis Carole Baskin.
The second documentary will be directed by Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin, the original duo behind the hit docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.
The pair have kept in contact with Exotic since he began serving his sentence, and have spoken before about how Exotic’s prison sentence has taught him about why keeping wild animals in cages was cruel.
A synopsis for Tiger King 2 says: “The global hit Tiger King, which attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after its March 2020 premiere, will return to Netflix for more madness and mayhem.”
Netflix confirmed the new series lands later this year.
