Kevin Sinfield Set To Start His Final ‘7 In 7’ Challenge In Hull Next Month

Kevin Sinfield CBE is set to take on his final ‘7 in 7 Challenge’ next month to raise awareness and funds for MND. And he’s starting it in Hull, at the home of the Rugby League World Club Champions, Hull KR, before finishing at the Betfred Super League Grand Final, visiting each of the home grounds for the 12 English Betfred Super League clubs.

Sinfield has revealed the route for his seventh and final annual challenge, 7 in 7, where he runs seven marathons in seven days. He’s returning to his roots across the north of England, starting in Hull on 27 September and finishing on Saturday 3 October in Manchester, at Old Trafford, in front of 70,000 fans.

Since the first annual challenge in 2020, Sinfield and his team have raised more than £11 million for the MND community, with six charities set to benefit once again. The work of the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, MND Scotland and the Irish MND Association will be supported by the challenge once again.

Each day is divided into 7km blocks, which Sinfield must complete within the hour before starting his next block. The Extra Mile events will also return each day, when Sinfield and the team will be joined by people impacted by MND to complete a mile together.

It’ll be a fitting end to the challenge, as Sinfield and Rob Burrow won seven Grand Finals together during their time at Leeds Rhinos. At the Grand Final, the Man of the Match will receive the Rob Burrow Trophy, showcasing how important Burrow’s memory remains to the rugby league community.
