This Leeds Cafe & Bar Has A Yorkshire-Themed Menu Including A Yorkshire Pudding Burger

There is a cafe & bar in Leeds City Centre that has a passion for all things Yorkshire! From their Hendos beans to their Yorkshire pudding burgers, you’re going to want to add to your bucket list of places to try, as it looks bloody brilliant! Wapentake, Leeds is a must for any true Yorkshireman.

The bar has a laidback vibe as you walk in with a cosy cushioned corner in front of you as you walk in with a piano across from it that looks ready for a sing-a-long to begin at any second. As you turn to the bar you’re greeted with a range of Yorkshire ales such as BrewYork, and Northern Monk. North Brewing Co and Kirkstall Brewery on tap along with a stocked beer fridge beside it.

Wapentake sells itself as a piece of Yorkshire, and we couldn’t agree more. First up – their brunch menu has everything you’d want from a decent breakfast with their Yorkshire breakfast that includes Sheffield’s Hendo sauce beans with all the other items you’d expect on a good ol’ Full English.

The item that caught our eye was the breakfast Yorkshire puddings that come with baked eggs, crispy bacon bits, and, of course, Hendersons relish. These can all be washed down with a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea,

We love a burger, and we love a Sunday Roast, so this genius idea of swapping out the bun for two Yorkshire puddings is something to be applauded and is up there with the discovery of penicillin for us here at The Yorkshireman.

If you’re a lover of gravy then get ready for a taste sensation as this oozy burger will fulfil every need someone from God’s Own Country has. The burger comes stacked with a juicy beef pattie perfectly seasoned, with bacon and with bacon and cheese, sandwiched between two fluffy Yorkshire puds.

It also comes with chunky well seasoned wedges and your own gravy boat because you can never have too much gravy. We’ll tell you one thing about it, there’s nowt small on this plate.

If you’re wanting a Sunday lunch, you’ll have to get down sharpish as they’re known to be packed to the rafters with people hankering for their Sunday Roast and after trying the Yorkshire pudding burger we can see why. Waentake’s thick gravy is the stuff of dreams and we are already planning a return trip to try their Sunday roast.

They also have a range of spirits and ciders to try – as well as coffees and cakes. We can’t wait to head down to Wapentake ‘A Little Piece Of Yorkshire’. 92 Kirkgate, Leeds LS2 7DJ
