Channel 5 show The Yorkshire Vet is a long-established show with a huge audience, it’s vets behind the scenes led by Julian Norton and Peter Wright work to maintain the health of farmers and pets health. Both Peter and Julian have worked together at the Skeldale Veterinary Centre at Thirsk. But who is Julian Norton and how well do you really know him?
Norton is a mixed practice veterinary surgeon who works at a new independent small animal practice – Sandbeck Veterinary Centre – in Wetherby, West Yorkshire where he moved in 2019. He lives with his with Anne and two sons Jack and Archie.

The 49-year-old vet comes TV personality is best known for gracing our screens and having our pets on The Yorkshire Vet, which is now in its 13 series. But how did he come to be on our screens we hear you ask?
Julian was born in 1972, on June the 3rd in Castleford, West Yorkshire where he attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, in Wakefield. He went on to study at Cambridge University where he graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine.

He met his now-wife Ann at university. She too is a practising vet at the family practice in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. He worked his way up from assistant to partner at the same surgery that famous author Alf Wight worked, the writer of the popular James Herriot tales.

Julian Norton is now an established author himself with six books under his belt. Not too shabby if we say so ourselves. He’s definitely popular with the viewers of the popular Channel 5 show.
