We’ve done it again. One of Yorkshire’s top attractions has been ranked among the best in the world. There isn’t much in Yorkshire that’s not best in the world. We have a restaurant that has been voted 4th best in the world, a hotel that is voted 2nd best in the world, and award-winning fish & chips restaurants across the county. It just goes to show when Yorkshire folk do something, they do it right.
Xscape Yorkshire, in Castleford, West Yorkshire has taken Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award. The prestigious award puts Xscape in the top 10% of tourist and leisure attractions in the world, which is no small feat. The consistency and hard work of staff in making the attraction such a fun and well-run place has helped put this Yorkshire attraction in the same category some of the top attractions around the world.
The award is based on a whole year of reviews in which Xscape averaged a rating of 4.5 stars from more than 1,100 reviews. It offers a whole range of sports such as climbing, trampolining, skiing and snowboarding on real snow and adventure golf. As well as Total Wipeout-style assault course, escape rooms, laser games, ten-pin bowling, virtual reality games, kids’ soft play, an amusement arcade, a cinema and gym plus restaurants, takeaways and bars.
General manager Jason Warren of scape said, “It’s great winning awards but when they are based on visitor feedback and reviews it’s extra special.
“It makes all the hard work worthwhile and inspires us to go further. And that’s what we’re constantly looking to do here at Xscape Yorkshire – offering fun, immersive and unique days out for people from across the region and the UK.
“It’s been a challenging few months for everyone but our brands and centre team have risen to the challenge in the run-up to reopening and getting safety measures in place. We’d like to thank our visitors for following our centre safety measures to help keep them and our teams safe.
“Despite a reduced capacity within the centre for safety, we’ve been busy and have proved popular with families – proof that customer confidence is returning to the leisure industry and the Yorkshire tourism economy.”
Tripadvisor chief commercial officer Kanika Soni added: “Winners of the 2020 Travellers’ Choice Awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition.”
“Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements.”
“Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well-deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travellers as the world begins to venture out again.”
