Yorkshire Restaurant Has Been Named Best In The UK And 4th Best In The World

Of course, it’s no surprise to us Yorkshire folk to hear one of our fine establishments is the fourth best in the world. But which greasy cafe is it? Or is it one of our fine pub lunches scattered across the county? Nope. It is, in fact, the Michelin-starred Black Swan at Oldstead has taken the prestigious rating in the fine dining category of TripAdvisor’s 2020 Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best Awards.

Set in the North York Moors, this former pub was rated best in the UK, beating Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck which ranked 10th. Based on a full year of TripAdvisor, pre-Coronavirus, the number one spot was taken by Auberge De Vieux Puits, near Narbonne in the South of France; followed by La Ville Blanche in Northwest France and Chila in the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires.

24-year-old, Tommy Banks, who runs The Black Swan said: He said: “We’re thrilled to be named the best fine dining restaurant in the UK, and number four in the world.

“We work so hard to provide our customers with the best possible dining experience, and it’s always such an honour to be recognised for it,

Banks became the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Britain when The Black Swan retained its star in 2013.
