1. Hearth Restaurant & Bakery
A bakery by day and a restaurant by night, Hearth in Hull city centre’s old town, located in the popular Trinity Square, is a perfect example of what Hull is capable of. Serving artisan freshly baked bread, pastries, and hand-rolled pasta during the day, while upstairs, the dining room offers small plates, large plates, and a range of sides.
And you won’t want to miss out on one of the best restaurants in Hull: Hearth’s fantastic Sunday roasts with rich gravy and fluffy Yorkshire puddings. One of our favourite places to eat in Hull, it also offer fabulous cocktails and wines in a relaxed atmosphere. 2. The Social Distortion
The restaurant initially took up a pop-up space in the Fruit Market before securing a permanent spot on Humber Street. The small independent restaurant and bar focuses on the flavours of Asia, with tastes of South East Asia and Thailand being a big focus.
All served with a big slice of punk rock. You can either choose a casual dining option, selecting from the small plates menu, or opt for a tasting menu style concept which gives you a flavour of The Social Distortion’s seasonal menu. 3. Anti Saute Saute Club
The Anti Saute Saute Club is a cool pop-up based on Princes Ave in the trendy bar, Accomplice. We visited earlier this year for the bottomless steak offer, and it exceeded our expectations by far. These guys like to get creative in the kitchen and know how to offer something extra special. With the beautiful venue as the perfect backdrop, this Hull restaurant is a real treat.
They’re known for their ever-changing menus – and currently, their small plates include smash burger tacos, wok-sautéed salt & pepper chips, tasty buttermilk chicken popcorn, and more. And did we mention they serve up an Anti Saute roast that includes slow-cooked brisket bourguignon? I’m salivating just writing that. Address: 26-28 Princes Ave, Hull HU5 3QQ.
4. Mancia Sicilian Italian
Bringing an authentic taste of Sicily to Hull, this Newland Ave restaurant serves up fresh and vibrant dishes that ooze flavour. They are currently offering a small plates-style dining experience so you can try more of their menu at an affordable price when visiting – what more could you ask for? From the sugo di casa to the lasagna della mamma, you know you’re getting irresistible food with spot-on service.
Oh, and if you have room for dessert the house tiramisu is one of the best desserts we’ve tucked into on our trips around Yorkshire. This needs to be one of the most popular places to eat in Hull. 45 Newland Ave, Hull HU5 3BE
5. HOME
Located on Beverley Road next to the railway bridge, this cafe bar, HOME, is the definition of a hidden gem. Situated on one of the busiest roads in the city, it could quite easily be seen as just another cafe serving sandwiches and coffee, but this cosy cafe spot offers an ever-changing menu of tasty dishes packed full of flavour, alongside great wines, craft ales, and more. The venue lives up to its name; when you walk into the restaurant, you’re greeted with a warm environment.
The menu includes dishes such as Yorkshire rib-eye steak with fries, seafood linguine with king prawns, mussels, and squid in a white wine sauce. Vegans are treated to the same strong menu with options like a crispy jackfruit burger with pomegranate salsa, dill pickles, and sweet potato fries. Address: 321 Beverley Rd, Hull HU5 1LD
6. Humber Fish Co.
With Hull’s heritage steeped in fishing, it’s fitting that they have a nautical-themed restaurant, and Humber Fish Co. is a seafood lover’s paradise. Whether you want lobster, crab, mussels, or more, you can enjoy sustainably and locally sourced fish inside or outside on their terrace situated on the popular Humber Street.
The menu includes classic fish & chips along with incredible seafood platters and luxurious lobsters. As you walk in and see the marble-topped tables, you know you’re in for a fantastic evening. Tapasya Marina offers an Indian meal like you’ve never had before. More of an experience for the senses than a simple restaurant, this fine dining establishment utilises intricate dishes and the ambiance of its opulent surroundings to engage all of your senses. It’s a gastronomic journey like no other, and we believe it’s one of the best restaurants in Hull.

8. Stretch Pizza
Found in the stunning Paragon Arcade, Stretch began life as a street food pop-up – and now they serve up the best Neapolitan pizza in the city. From a classic Margherita to their fiery Diavolo, there is something for everyone, and we can’t wait to see what Stretch Neapolitan Pizza in Hull has planned for its bricks-and-mortar version.

9. Butler Whites
Housed in the former fruit and veg warehouse, Butler Whites gives a nod to its heritage using the name of the former business that once thrived on Fruit Market. The restaurant serves up a fine dining menu on Hull’s waterfront celebrating local produce and regional culinary traditions. As one of the most popular places to eat in Hull, it had to make our list.
From the signature king prawn thermadore to the Sunday roast, it offers the most tastiest menu in a beautifully curated environment that you can sit in with friends for hours. It really is one of the best restaurants in Hull as the place itself is stunning. decorated giving a nod to its previous use whilst decorated out like a classy bistro. 10. Cognac
A taste of Paris on the streets of Hull, Cognac can be found on Chanterlands Avenue and offers a relaxed and quiet restaurant with a warm French ambience. Alongside a traditional French meal, you can enjoy a range of the finest French wines.

Found on the 12th Floor of the K2 building, customers can enjoy views over Hull including Hull Minster and the Wolds whilst enjoy a romantic dinner or meal out with friends. SEBU is a unique restaurant, wine & cocktail bar, serving Filipino-Hispanic influenced small plates and hearty dishes, alongside a variety of steaks and bbq meats.
