We love Hull. It is a great place to visit and as our local city, we might be just a little bit biased. Its old town is iconic and used for several tv shows and films. 1. Hearth Restaurant & Bakery
A bakery by day restaurant by night Hearth in Hull city centre’s old town in the popular Trinity Square, is a perfect example of what Hull is capable of. 2. Ambiente Tapas
An independent tapas restaurant and Spanish sherry bar on Hull’s popular Fruit Humber Street off the Marina. Opening in 2016, it’s the fourth site of the popular dining experience. Known for its sherry, 30 fabulous tapas dishes cooked in a Spanish Josper oven. The open-plan dining area has deep booth seating, banquet -style and tables for differing experiences.
Ambiente is perfect as a romantic date night setting, but also great for family get together, work nights out and any other experience. 3. Humber Fish Co.
With Hull’s heritage steeped in fishing, it’s fitting that they have a nautical-themed restaurant and Humber Fish Co. is a seafood lover’s paradise. Whether you want lobster, crab, mussels and more you can enjoy sustainably and locally-sourced fish inside or outside on their terrace situated on the popular Humber Street.
The menu includes classic fish & chips along with incredible seafood platters and luxurious lobsters. As you walk in and sea the marble-topped tables you know you’re in for a fantastic evening. Tapasya Marina is an Indian meal like you’ve never had. More of an experience for the senses that a simple restaurant, the fine dining experience utilises intricate dishes and uses the ambience and opulent surroundings helps engage all of your senses. It’s a gastronomic journey like no other that we feel is one of the best restaurants in Hull.

5. Sashimi
Opening in 2018, Hull Shasimi is the cities answer to Yo Sushi!. Serving up delicious Japanese classics, with many choices such as authentic soups, salads and side dishes, tempura, teriyaki, ramen, katsu, and other classic dishes. But, it’s not just the food, they also offer sake and plum wine.

6. J. Johnson’s Restaurant & Wine Bar
The name is a homage to the late Jack Johnson, a legendary figure from the Fruit Market in its heyday of Hull’s wholesale fruit and veg trade. A New York Style Deli & Bistro, the decor is a chequered tiled floor and jade green metro-style tiles with copper radiators and an industrial feel.
Opening back in 2018 J Johnson’s wine bar & bistro is one of Hull’s best restaurants serving a range of amazing deli plates downstairs along with a high-quality range of wines, champagnes and spirits along with some great beers on draught. They also do a range of curated cocktails as well.
Cocktails include a Pea and Elderflower Cooler – Stolichnaya vodka and gin muddled with fresh petit pois, cucumber, elderflower and tarragon; and house special J Johnsons Royale – Stolichnaya Vodka and Stolichnaya Vanil shaken with apple juice, salted caramel and topped with Prosecco.

7. Cognac
A taste of Paris on the streets of Hull, Cognac can be found on Chanterlands Avenue and offers a relaxed and quiet restaurant with a warm French ambience. Alongside a traditional French meal, you can enjoy a range of the finest French wines.

8. Junkyard Cafe & Bar
Found on the 12th Floor of the K2 building, customers can enjoy views over Hull including Hull Minster and the Wolds whilst they took into the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
Junkyard is a family-run cafe bar and grill with its own private roof terrace making it one of the best places to eat in Hull with a view. You can tuck into foods such as slow-roasted pork belly, a tasty dried aged beef burger, some Teriyaki salmon or get a tasty 10 oz sirloin steak from the grill menu.

10. Nibble
A breakfast, brunch and lunch spot on the docks in Hull, Nibble has proven popular with locals and with good reason. It serves up some of the tastiest brunch dishes that you’re going to have to visit more than once to make sure that you’ve tried all the dishes on the menu.

11. Anti Saute Saute Club
The Anti Saute Saute Club is a cool pop-up based in The White Hart pub known for their ever-chaning elcetic menus. Their food is made using quality ingredients with passion, and range form packed juicy burgers and a range of sides that are sure to hit the spot if you’re looking for something calorific.
The White Hart also serves a range of great craft ales, which makes for the perfect combination. It’s definitely one to add to you Hull restaurant bucket list this year as one of the best restaurants in Hull.

12. Lion and key
An independent pub in Hull’s Old Town offers a range of locally sourced pub grub and are famed for their fish & chips with chunky chips, peas and tartare sauce. They also havea a great pies, steak sandwich and curry option along with other options that sounded just as tasty.
