We can all agree that lockdown has been a mood killer. Sitting in the same house with the same views every day watching This Morning can only get you so far. Like us, you must be bursting to get out and enjoy the outside world again. Bolton Percy Gatehouse is a great little romantic stay from the 15th Century.

Getting as far away from the TV is the first thing on our mind, and this wonderful 18th-century gatehouse with beautiful countryside views is the ideal romantic staycation.
Bolton Percy Gatehouse is the ideal getaway. Situated in Bolton Percy, it is surrounded by glorious countryside whilst still having great access to Leeds and York via the A64. As well as this, the beautiful town of Tadcaster, home to Taddy Lager, is only a short drive away.

This 15th century Grade II listed stay is in an idyllic village with a traditional pub just a little walk away. The dramatic wooden doors will be the first thing to catch your eye and will have you feeling you’ve stepped back in time a few centuries.

As you walk through the door, you’re greeted with a super slick modern kitchen that fits seamlessly with the antique feel of the place. The wooden beams and super-king-sized four-poster bed may make you feel like you’ve stepped into a romantic scene from a fairy tale.

Rest assured that the stay includes an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine – plus a great seating area. It has everything you need for a self-catered stay in the countryside.
