If lockdown has been anything, it’s been a complete romance killer. Because let’s face it, there’s absolutely nothing sexy about routine and being holed up in the house all day every day – no matter what those Stockholm Syndrome TV dramas tell you. That’s why as soon as the restrictions allow, we’re packing up the car and heading straight off on a romantic staycation – in a bid to at least talk about something other than who had the last teabag and what’s on tele tonight.
And this gorgeous bolthole hidden away in Kirkby Lonsdale is the perfect spot to do just that.

Located in a rural spot in the Cumbria side of the Yorkshire Dales, the quaint cottage is the perfect size for two, with everything you need to hide away from civilisation as a couple.
We’re talking cosy furnishings, a plush bedroom with views of the surrounding countryside and a perfectly-positioned hot tub to enjoy the scenery in.

It’s everything you could ask for (and more) for a rural retreat, but it doesn’t end there.
Flowing directly behind the property – literally just a metre away – an idyllic stream meanders past, adding to the gorgeous views the cottage is blessed with.
It lies just below the cottage’s private decking, complete with seating, a hot tub, and patio doors into the master bedroom.

If you don’t particularly fancy going out much during your stay, the cottage is complete with a fully-equipped kitchen, with space for dining and a cosy living room to crash in after your meal.
In addition to that, guests can enjoy the smart TV on an evening, which has BBC iPlayer, Netflix and more providing the entertainment for your stay (should you wish to kick back and watch TV while you’re there).

Perfectly located for exploring some of the UK’s most beautiful natural wonders, the cottage can be used as a base for travelling to Lake Windermere, the Forest of Bowland, Arnside, Sedbergh and the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
For those who wish to utilise the cottage for what’s directly on its doorstep, you’ll find a number of beautiful walks all around you – as well as shops, pubs and restaurants in the villages and towns surrounding.

The cottage still has a number of dates available throughout the spring and summer months, as well as plenty of dates remaining for autumn. To find and more and book, check it out here.
