Brits love a curry night. So, it’s a good job that the UK has hundreds, if not thousands, of fantastic Indian restaurants and takeaways. And, the British Curry Championships is a great way to honour some of the best this country has to offer. A few of Yorkshire’s best were honoured at the 2025 awards, which highlight the hard work that goes into these fantastic spots.
Organisers of the event say it helps showcase the top 300 restaurants, bringing you the best curry in the country. And this year the awards were held in Bradford, which is currently the City of Culture, so it’s only fitting.

This year at the British Curry Championships 2025, five Yorkshire curry houses were honoured at the awards, which celebrate the top chefs, restaurants and takeaways. Bombay Spice on Goodramgate in York was named Customer Favourite of the Year.
Other awards included: Outstanding Curry Restaurant of the Year, which went to Aarti; and Nation’s Curry Champion of the Year, which went to this year’s host city, International Restaurant, in Bradford.

Irfan Younis, a spokesperson for the British Curry Championship, said: “These awards provide a platform to applaud the exceptional efforts of those who have made significant contributions to the curry sector and continue to elevate the nation’s love for curry.
