After months away from our loved ones, the Prime Minister has announced that we can finally reunite within other people’s households – following almost four months under a strict nationwide lockdown.
Announcing the highly anticipated news just this lunchtime, the Prime Minister revealed that people in England could now meet with one other household, regardless of location. This means that millions of separated families will now be able to reunite, both within homes and outside of them, with Number 10 confirming shortly after the conference that the public would also be permitted to stay the night at each others homes should they wish to, The Mirror reports.

Brits are not expected to choose only one household, however they may only meet with one other household indoors at one time. Social distancing rules (of a reduced one metre) will still apply in all situations. This is regardless of how many people are within the two households, however, the outdoor rules still apply for meetings of only six people at a time if you wish to meet with a third household.
Boris Johnson also spoke of loosened restrictions around the hospitality industry, allowing hairdressers, pubs, restaurants, cafes and hotels to re-open – restarting the UK’s economy in a huge way. All hospitality businesses permitted to re-open will be required to follow strict social distancing guidelines and increased hygiene regimes.
