They say that dogs are a man’s best friend, and they aren’t far wrong. A dog can bring so much joy to a family as shown in moving Channel 4‘s The Dog House, which sees abandoned and stray dogs rehomed with a new family.
The show which is currently airing at 8pm on Thursday has had great reviews for being heartwarming and feel good. The Dog House is set at the animal charity Wood Green in Cambridgeshire and has been described as both ‘charming’ and ‘compassionate’.

The programme follows prospective owners as they are matched with a rescue dog, specially selected by the expert team of matchmakers at Wood Green.
The staff at the animal charity match their homeless dogs with new owners and are looking for families, couples and singletons who are looking to rehome these abandoned or found stray dogs.

And great news for dog lovers on the lookout for a new pooch – they’re looking for people to share their story and take as part of the new series – and gain a beautiful new pet in the process.
In the previous series people have shared many reasons that people might wish to bring a dog into their lives; loneliness, extra company for a child, to encourage exercise or to live in the moment more! The show tells the story of both humans and dogs, as they prepare to meet each other for the first time.

The show is casting its net far and wide to find potential dog-rescuers! And they want to hear from anyone who is seriously considering rescuing a dog and is up for talking to them about why they need a dog in their life.
