It’s been announced that The Yorkshire Vet is returning to 5 this week. And it’s returning for series 23 with a very special episode all about ‘Peter Wright’s dream’. We, along with other viewers, can’t wait to see what Peter, Julian Norton and the rest of the gang, including Mr and Mrs Green, have been up to.
What can we expect from The Yorkshire Vet series 23?
It’s known that Peter was initially under the supervision of none other than All Creatures Great and Small author James Herriot aka Alf Wight. And, in this special, he discusses his dream that “across the country, animal lovers could have wonderful places where they can forever remember the pets who have enriched their lives,” the Express reports.
The episode synopsis details: “Cameras follow him as he embarks on a passion project to make that dream come true. It takes him to Sussex to meet the country’s first animal chaplain and her church’s pet memorial garden, inspiring him to create something similar back in Yorkshire.”
Posting to the official Facebook page about the episode, they said: “Peter starts to think about how his clients cope with the grief of losing a pet. And after visiting the UK’s first animal chaplain in West Sussex, where they’ve created a pet memorial garden, he dreams of doing something similar in Yorkshire.
“And where better than at the original Herriot practice, where Peter worked with Alf Wight all those years ago? Another part of this dream is to put memorial benches at various beauty spots around the country, starting in the Howardian Hills national landscape. Where Francesca helps him find the perfect spot for a bench.”
Britain’s oldest farming couple, Mr and Mrs Green, will also feature in episode one.
