The third and final season of BBC One Drama Happy Valley is set to hit out screens in a matter of weeks and the first look trailer has been released.
After a seven-year wait viewers have been given their first look at Sarah Lancashire and the gang in action in Sally Wainwright’s BAFTA-winning series.
Take a look at the first-look trailer for Happy Valley series three below:
In the newly released trailer, we see Sergeant Catherine Cawood come across some human remains in a drained reservoir and Cawood announcing she is set to retire in “seven months, one week, three days” sets the premise for this series up.
Cawood’s grandson, Ryan (Rhys Connah), is now sixteen and is wanting to find out more about his father and Tommy Lee Royce, is still pulling strings from prison. One thing the new series makes clear is there is going to be plenty of action.
In a recent interview, James Norton, who plays murderer and sex offender Tommy Lee Royce, discussed Lancashire’s performance Norton said: “absolute legend in our industry, giving the performance of her life” rating it a “must-see”.
He added: “I think it’s such a specific show about the very specific part of England, and you know the accents and the temperaments and sensibilities of those characters are quite specific to the area.”
It was recently announced that the final series of Happy Valley is set to go out on New Year’s Day at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, making for a prime viewing spot.
