Not long now for All Creatures Great and Small fans to wait! Following the news that series 7 of our favourite heartfelt drama would be returning to our screens this month, Channel 5 has kindly given us a little glimpse of what to expect from the first episode, featuring James and the gang.
Posting on Channel 5’s social media pages, the broadcaster wrote: “A new chapter begins for Jenny in London, Jimmy finds his feet at big school, and an unexpected arrival brings change to Darrowby.” Alongside the caption were some first-look images from the opening episode, which you can check out below.
The first-look trailer got us excited earlier this month, promising a ‘hopeful new chapter’ in the post-war era, with plenty of action at Skeldale House (as ever!), the return of our favourite Darrowby faces and even a little local rivalry for James and Siegfried. It also teases the arrival of Northern Irish actor Caolan McCarthy, who joins the cast as a series regular and looks set to shake things up.
We aren’t the only ones getting excited about the new series. One person commented on the post: “Can’t wait for the new series!” while another wrote: “When will it be out? I can’t wait!”
If you’re sitting there wondering when All Creatures Great and Small series 7 will hit your screens, don’t worry — you won’t have to wait long. The new series airs this week on Channel 5, on Thursday 17 September at 9pm, with episodes airing weekly.
In the new series, James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens to upset the status quo. The world at large may be changing, but within this little corner of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike.
