Last week, first-look images were released for Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small series seven. It’s the channel’s most successful drama series, and James Herriot and the gang are set to return this autumn. The newly released pictures give us an insight into what’s to come. We’ll have six new episodes, plus a Christmas special (yay!).
Returning this September, All Creatures Great and Small will transport us once again to the stunning Yorkshire Dales in 1946. The war is finally over, Skeldale House is once again full and livelier than ever, and we’re giddy with anticipation for the new series, which takes us back to the fictional town of Darrowby.
When is All Creatures Great and Small air date?

A release date has finally been announced for the new series, which sees 5 return to everyone’s favourite fictional village with all our favourite characters. All Creatures Great and Small series 7 airs on 17 September on 5. With brand new episodes and a Christmas special to look forward to.
In the new series, James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo. The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike.
The series is based on real-life vet Alf Wight, aka James Herriot’s, cherished books and is produced by BAFTA and Golden Globe-winning company Playground (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, The Hardacres, The Undeclared War) and MASTERPIECE on PBS, in association with global partner All3Media International.
