First-Look Images Of Channel 5’s ‘The Hardacres’ Series Two

If, like us, you were a big fan of the first series of 5’s The Hardacres, then the unveiling of these first-look images will wet your whistle as you wait in anticipation of the second series. The first series of the show was inspired by the novels of CL Skelton and aired last year to positive reviews.

Brought to you by the brilliant team behind the remake of the All Creatures Great and Small series, The Hardacres is a rags-to-riches family tale starring Claire Cooper and Liam McMahon as Mary and Sam Hardacre, alongside Julie Graham as Mary’s mother, Ma. Their children — Joe, Liza and Harry — are played by Adam Little, Shannon Lavelle and Zak Ford-Williams.

The second series of The Hardacres picks up in 1985, following the family as they stand on the brink of transformation. Modernity is arriving at Hardacre Hall brining the likes of electricity and shifting loyalties. Mary and Sam embrace new opportunities, while their children begin to forge paths that challenge expectations.

Mary throws herself into championing adult education for dock workers, while Sam expands the family business amid the threat of a looming recession. Meanwhile, Joe is determined to prove himself, though his impulsive decisions could put his future at risk. Liza, recovering from heartbreak, finds herself drawn to a mysterious stranger, while Harry’s outlook changes under the guidance of a new tutor.

As relationships evolve and tensions rise, the arrival of Lady Imelda Hansen brings a dangerous new dynamic, forcing the Hardacres to unite or risk losing everything.

The wider cast also features Holly Sturton, Cathy Belton and Owen Roe as members of the Fitzherbert family, alongside Ingrid Craigie, Sarah Agha and Taheen Modak. Joining the cast for series two are Michele Dotrice, who takes on the role of Lady Imelda Hansen, as well as Niall McNamee and Edward Mitchell.

Produced by Playground Entertainment — the award-winning team behind All Creatures Great and Small — the series is created in association with Screen Ireland and Red Berry Productions, with Banijay Rights handling international sales.

With a fresh chapter full of drama, ambition and intrigue, The Hardacres looks set to deliver another compelling series when it returns to screens this spring.
