Earlier this month Bake Off announced its return via a dramatic teaser on social media for 2021. Now the contestants for the new series have also been announced, and we are shaking with excitement at the thought of tarts, buns and cakes on our teles once again.

Hosted by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas alongside judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to show will see 12 new hopefuls compete to be crowned the Bake Off Champion. In this year’s hopefuls is 19-year-old, Freya Cox from Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
Currently studying a psychology degree, Freye has been an avid watcher of the Bake Off since the first series when she was nine where she’d dreamt of being inside the tent – and now she is!

Her passions include horses and baking, which was her grandma’s influence growing up. She likes to make vegan versions of classic makes and has a goal to bake so that no one can tell the results are vegan.
The baking show will return for its 12th series on September 21 at 8pm on Channel 4. Bakers have once again filmed in a bubble due to the pandemic.
