One final Hairy Bikers cookbook that brings together the Si King and the late Dave Myers’ “most love” recipes. Following the death of Myers who died aged 66 in February last year following a cancer diagnosis, King has paid tribute to his friend and co-star on many occasions and this last cookbook will be a fitting bookend to the pairs successful career together as one of the nation’s favourite chefs a double act.
The Best of the Hairy Bikers will have a new introduction written by King and will feature a collection of the creation that the pair were most fond of. The new cookbook is available to buy today and will be a sort after cookbook by all Hairy Bikers fans.
Posting to social media Si wrote: “Here it is folks. The final Hairy Biker cookbook is out today. It has 100 incredible recipes, a culmination of the amazing culinary journey Dave and I have been on over the years. It’s special because they are recipes loved by us but more importantly loved by you. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and love for us both.
“So for one last time, jump on your bikes and get down to the shops – today!”
Si spoke in more detail about the cook book in an Instagram post ahead of its release. King said: “It’s just a little bit really, to say that now The Hairy Bikers publishing has come to an end, we just wanted to let you know what was next.
“And we wanted to put together a compendium, really, of our favourite recipes through the years, as a final offering to you all. Over the years, it’s been clear that there’s been certain recipes that you guys have absolutely loved and returned to again and again, you know, the ones that are the grubbiest in your cookbooks, they’ve got finger marks and stains, and all that sort of stuff, and the ones that you talk to us about often.
“So we just thought it’d be a nice thing to do, and they’re also the recipes that Dave and I have the fondest memories of making and developing, and the ones that stand out over the 30 cookbooks we’ve done together, and that really exemplify our love for food.
“The vision of the book was to put together a definitive list of our favourite recipes that incorporates the creations that we made from our journey together. Each chapter contains our top 10 most loved and most cooked, and most talked about recipes.
“The book also contains previously published recipes, of course, collected together for the first time, but it does have new introductions, because I wrote them. So, I hope you love it, as much as I did putting it together, and the team, we had some really lovely moments, and some very fond memories. So thank you, and I hope you enjoy the new book.”
