Yorkshire is once again a hotbed of Hollywood action as it is used once again as a backdrop for a big ol’ movie. This time it’s the turn of Knaresborough in North Yorkshire. Known for its stunning viaduct, the historic market town is the perfect place to use as a filming location.
Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland was spotted in the town shooting a Christmas-themed film. The actor known for 24 was seen waving and smiling to onlookers as he was walking out of a hotel in Knaresborough.
Yorkshire Live reports that film crews have been seen at Conyngham Hall car park but there is no other information in regards to the film or who else might be involved. There were also extras seen in Father Christmas outfits.

Kiefer’s film is not the only big-time Hollywood visit that the area has seen recently Millie Bobby Brown was in Hull Old Town filming for Netflix. And, last year Tom Cruise became a regular in the Peak District region as he was spotted once again in the Peak District setting of rumours of filming for the next Mission Impossible film. The A-lister actor filmed scenes for the last film in the franchise in the region as well as in Yorkshire.
He was spotted dining in the Bakewell restaurant of Lovage and took the time to take photos with the staff. The restaurant serves up a menu of modern British food with a laid-back country feel. They seemed to have done the job as Cruise looks cheerful as he poses for photos.
