The cheeky and hilariously edgy Channel 4 show ‘Ackley Bridge’, is returning to our screens tonight in a new time slot of 6pm. The school drama was due to hit our screens back in September but, was pushed back as filming was delayed due to COVID-19.

The school-based drama is filmed in and around the Calderdale area in West Yorkshire. Ackley Bridge filming locations include former St Catherine’s Catholic High School at Holmfield, Halifax. The show is the biggest show of the year on All 4 for teenagers and it’s easy to see why.
The ten-part drama will begin tonight and will air every day for two weeks at 6pm. Back with all the familiar faces such as Sunetra Sarker, Rob James Collier, Jo Joyner, Charlie Hardwick and Tony Jayawardeena – we can’t wait.

As well as the old favourites, some new faces will appear on our screens such as Robyn Cara, Yasmin Al Khudhairi, Ryan Dean, Carla Woodcock, Shobhit Piasa and Conor McIntyre.
The show aims to tackle real-life situations in a multi-cultural Britain in a Yorkshire backdrop. The show helps breaks down stereotypes and “aims to counter negative narratives that our differences outweigh our similarities”, presenting the viewer with a more “optimistic view of the world”, according to Caroline Hollick, Head of Channel 4 Drama writing for Radio Times.
We have been very excited for this new series and know that Yorkshire folk will be just as eager to get stuck into this show and its interpretation of schools and the issues they’re facing.
You can visit the All 4 website here and catch up on the previous series or catch up on episodes you’ve missed of Ackley Bridge. Filmed in God’s Own Country, you know it’s going to be hilarious. Make sure that you catch it. We are sure you won’t be disappointed.
Channel 4 added a cheeky behind the scenes video of our favourite drama, which you can check out below as well as some Ackley Bridge filming locations:
