Knitted Wallace & Gromit Which Helped Raise £15k Made Permanent Display In Yorkshire

“Chheeese Gromit.” If you’re a fan of Wallace & Gromit, then this knitted creation of the fromage loving duo on display in the town of Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales is a must for you. Wallace and Gromt were created by Nick Park’s and first appeared in the short animated film a Grand Day Out, voiced by Last of the Summer Wines’ Peter Sallis.

Created by the Hawes Yarnbombers to help raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance it has created a stir and raise helped raise £15,000. It’s been that much of a hit, it’s been announced that it’s going on permanent display.

The life-size pair took seven months to create and 15kg of yarn. The creation was based in the town’s centre but can be found in the popular Wensleydale Creamery’s visitor centre, which is a fitting tribute to the pair, who, we all know are found of the Yorkshire Dale cheese.

Posting to the Facebook group they wrote: “After raising over £15,000 over the summer for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance… We are very happy to announce that Wallace and Gromit are now on permanent display at the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes.
