Yorkshire’s beloved open air swimming pool returns this month, offering a fantastic summer destination for all the family to enjoy. Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool has announced its dates for the 2025 season, with a grand reopening date of Saturday 24th May.
The outdoor pool, which is located in the North York Moors countryside on the outskirts of Helmsley, is a 25-metre heated pool, offering a unique experience in one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful destinations from May to September every year.
The only open-air pool in Yorkshire of its size, the pool offers an array of sessions to suit all ages and swimmers throughout the summer, including adults-only sessions, floats and inflatables sessions, and special events including sunset swimming, yoga, and more.

Open seven days a week, the pool is an affordable activity for families or those looking for a unique place to swim, with adult tickets priced at just £6.25 and children at £3.95.
From aqua fitness to general swimming slots, there’s tons going on for the 2025 season, however, pre-booking is essential.
In addition to the summer schedule, the pool also opens annually in September for ‘Cool Pool’ sessions, with the pool gradually dipping in temperature over a number of weeks for those who prefer a cold dip.

Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool is one of only a handful in God’s Own Country, and the only lido in the North York Moors.
