It’s the time of the year when everywhere transforms into magical winter wonderlands and England’s oldest tourist attraction Mother Shipton’s Cave is also gearing up for Christmas. The award-winning attraction found in Picturesque woodlands along the River Nidd has been taken over by Santa and his elves and you are all invited.

Along with the Petrified Well and Mother Shipton’s Cave, you can enjoy festive displays, visit the big man himself, Santa, and even post a letter to the North Pole. You will be met my Cheif Elf Chesnut who will lead you to Santa’s grotto where you can even take an ‘elfie’ with him.

Sit on Santa’s sleigh for a beautiful photo, then visit the Elf Mail Post Office to stamp and post your letters to Santa.
Enjoy a magical woodland walk and take in the festive scenes and displays before visiting the magical Cave and Petrifying Well are found deep in the woodland where you can make a Christmas wish and hammer a coin into the Wishing Logs whilst exploring the historic site.

Afterwards visit the museum to see petrified celebrity items in the museum and browse our Gift Shop for an array of wonderful gifts, stocking fillers and decorations.
