Netflix Has Announce Two New Harlan Coben Series After The Success Of ‘Fool Me Once’

After the huge success of Fool Me Once starring Michelle Keegan and Richard Armitage – Netflix have announced to new adaptation of Harlan Coben’s work Miss You and Run Away, which are set to be the ninth and 10th adaptation’s by the popular streaming platform.

The eight-part series arrived on Netflix from Monday, January 1st and was met with praise from viewers who binged the show taking it to number one on the platform. The streaming show had a fantastic ensemble including cast members like Dame Joanna Lumley from Absolutely Fabulous, Adeel Akhtar from Sherwood, Emmett J Scanlan from Peaky Blinders, and Dino Fetscher from Paranoid.

Filming for Coben’s missing you is set to begin in the UK in spring 2024. It tells the tale of detective Kat Donovan who is drawn in by a sinister dating profile which could be connected to her father’s mysterious death.

The plot synopsis for the series reads: “Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan’s fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she’s never heard from him since.  Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again.

“Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.”

The co-writer of Stay Close Victoria Asare-Archer will adapt this Coben thriller. Whilst Fool Me Once’s Danny Brocklehurst is set to adapt the 10th adaptation Run Away.

The plot for Coben’s Runaway sees a man’s once perfect life thrown into chaos after his eldest daughter goes missing, resurfacing high on drugs in a public park.

The plot synopsis for the series reads:“Simon had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart. 

“So now when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home.  But it turns out she’s not alone and an argument escalates into shocking violence that will shatter Simon’s life all over again.  His search for his daughter will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.

Coben will be working with Quay Street Productions both productions with casting to be announced in due course. Who knows, Yorkshire could be once again used as a backdrop for one of his thrilling tales.
