New Luxury Hotel Becomes Yorkshire’s Third Michelin Key Hotel

Manor House Lindley, near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, is the newest hotel in Yorkshire to receive a MICHELIN Key, joining the likes of Grantley Hall near Ripon and Saltmoore in Sandsend. The award is MICHELIN’s hotel equivalent of its globally recognised ‘stars’, highlighting some of the best hotels around the world.

According to MICHELIN, hotel experts judge several factors when selecting hotels, including “architecture and interior design; overall personality and character; quality and consistency of service; value between the level of the experience and the price paid; and the hotel’s contribution within its particular locality”.

The MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection now includes more than 9,000 hotels across over 100 countries. These places are not simply ‘a room for the night’ but experiences in themselves. In total, the MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection for Great Britain and Ireland includes 11 Three-Key hotels, 47 Two-Key hotels and 92 One-Key hotels, with 18 hotels newly awarded for 2026.

Manor House Lindley, West Yorkshire, England, was deemed by MICHELIN’s experts to be “a space that’s anything but ordinary”. It is described as an authentic Georgian house “that was rescued by an ambitious designer-turned-hotelier and transformed into one of West Yorkshire’s most unique hotels”.

The 11-bedroom hotel’s interiors mix classic elegance with an eclectic modern influence to create a space that’s anything but ordinary. Its public spaces attract not just overnight guests but locals as well, who gather for dinner, afternoon tea or a drink in one of its three in-house bars.

It is described as ideal for those who want the country experience without being completely removed from everyday life.

Yorkshire’s two other hotels that hold Two MICHELIN Keys have retained their awards and took to social media to celebrate. Saltmoore wrote: “We’re proud to share that Saltmoore has retained its Two MICHELIN Keys, a distinction awarded to hotels offering the most outstanding stay experiences.”

Grantley Hall posted a similar sentiment, writing: “We are proud to announce that Grantley Hall has retained Two MICHELIN Keys for the third year running. This prestigious distinction celebrates hotels that offer an exceptional guest experience, so we’re delighted to have once again been recognised.”
