You can’t beat a good steak! And East Yorkshire is set to welcome an exciting addition to Hull’s thriving restaurant scene: a decadent new 200-seater steakhouse and cocktail bar housed inside a 1930s building.
The space, nearly a century old, has stood empty for almost a decade. Located next to North Bridge, the interior has been revitalised with ground-floor seating, an intimate mezzanine, and a riverside rooftop bar.
Set to open next month, One Steakhouse & Lounge promises stunning riverside views while you sip rooftop cocktails. The restaurant will focus on serving exceptional-quality local produce, brought to life with Mediterranean flavours.
Diners will be able to choose from starters like king scallops with belly pork, goat’s cheese with roast peppers and balsamic reduction, and shell-on tiger prawns with garlic, chilli, and herb butter.
The stars of the show are the premium, 32-day dry-aged steaks, sourced directly from Yorkshire farmers. These include bone-in sharing cuts like the tomahawk and porterhouse, as well as individual steaks such as ribeye, T-bone, fillet, and more.
Edison Motina, co-owner of One Steakhouse & Lounge, said: “When I first saw the interior, I knew it had the potential to be a really vibrant place. The building has witnessed Hull’s history through thick and thin and remains a key piece of the area’s heritage. It felt right to give it the love it deserves and let people continue enjoying it.”
Edison continued: “We decided early on to serve only locally sourced Yorkshire meat, which is incredibly important to us. Our main aim has always been to offer the finest, freshest produce while supporting and celebrating our local farmers. I’m really proud of the menu our chefs have put together.”
